Warehouse cleaning across Oxford and Oxfordshire
Oxfordshire’s warehouses sit mostly along two roads: the A34 south through Abingdon and Didcot, and the M40 north-east through Bicester and on to Banbury. Many are high-bay distribution and storage buildings, where dust and debris build up on racking, beams, cladding and roof lights, well out of reach of a site’s day-to-day cleaning team.
That’s the work we do. Locus Services cleans warehouses, distribution centres and storage units across Oxford and the surrounding towns, from a single dusty unit to a multi-bay site that has to keep trading while we work.
What a warehouse clean covers
Every site is different, so we start with a free site survey and agree a written schedule of works. A typical warehouse clean in Oxfordshire covers:
- High-level areas: roof steelwork, beams, ducting, lighting and the tops of racking, cleaned from MEWPs by IPAF-trained operatives.
- Walls, cladding and ceilings: internal dust and cobwebs, plus external cladding where it’s needed.
- Floors and yards: deep cleaning of warehouse floors, loading bays, dock areas and yards. Where floors need more than a clean, we also offer factory floor painting.
- Cold stores and chilled areas: cold store cleaning planned around stock and temperature.
- Gutters and skylights: blocked gutters are a common cause of leaks onto stock, and dirty roof lights cut natural light. See gutter cleaning and skylight cleaning.
- Bird fouling: where pigeons have got into a building, we clear the guano safely and can fit proofing to keep them out. See pigeon guano removal.
Buildings we clean in Oxfordshire
Warehouses
High-bay storage buildings, where dust settles on beams, steelwork and the tops of racking. We clean from MEWPs, one section at a time, so picking can carry on.
Distribution centres
Large, busy sites along the A34 and the M40, often working long shifts. We plan the clean around shift changes, deliveries and dock activity, and work nights or weekends where needed.
Factories
Production areas, plant and the steelwork above them. We agree access around production schedules and planned shutdowns, and follow your site’s hygiene and safety rules. See industrial cleaning.
Commercial buildings
Business units, trade counters and offices on industrial and business parks: high-level internal cleans, plus cladding, gutters and skylights.
Cold stores
Chilled and frozen stores, cleaned to a plan agreed around stock and temperature so product stays protected. See cold store cleaning.
Working around a live site
Most warehouses can’t stop for a clean. We plan the work in sections, around picking, deliveries and shift patterns, and can work evenings, nights and weekends so the building stays open. Before we start, you get risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for the job, and our crews follow your site rules and inductions.
We take on one-off deep cleans, cleans before a new tenant moves in or after one moves out, and planned contract cleaning, for example a high-level clean once or twice a year.
Why Oxfordshire sites use a specialist
General cleaning contractors rarely have the access equipment, training or insurance for work at height in a live warehouse. Our operatives hold IPAF and CSCS cards, and Locus is a SafeContractor-accredited, Constructionline Silver contractor and a member of BICSc. We’re also a registered upper-tier waste carrier, so any waste we remove from site is carried and recorded properly.
